I wrote The Last Rain Forest when I was thirteen years old. Portuguese is my first language since I an from Brazil, so writing a book in English was a challenge! A talented family friend, Angelo Benito, was intrigued by the story and did some watercolors based upon it. The story and the sketches sat in a box for over 20 years, until another family friend sent my idea to a publisher. The publisher loved the story and the watercolors sketches. Angelo agreed to do a new, more detailed drawings for the book. The result is this book. Never give up on something you believe in. There is always the possibility that someone else will share your enthusiasm and help make your dream into reality.
