Jennie M. Bragaw was born in Fresno, California, and spent much of her childhood in the San Joaquin Valley, where she was often pulled from school to work in the fields. As a child, she and her family worked the fields from Salinas, California to Yuma, Arizona. She has lived and traveled throughout the United States and in Europe. Jennie has worked as an elementary school teacher and raised two children. She is a member of the American Library Association and the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She participated in two author panels regarding children’s literature at the Latino Book and Family Festival at California State University, San Bernardino. She travels extensively throughout California reading her books to children, and donating her books to libraries, schools and homes for children. Jennie lives in Huntington Beach, California, with her husband, Robert, and her one year old German Shepherd Dog, Bear.
